University Sustainability invites you to connect with the sustainable side of NC State with these additional 10 essential bucket list activities:

  1. Take a Spin on Campus

Explore alternative forms of transportation by renting an e-scooter or e-bike at NC State. If you’re looking for something with more power, take part in an electric vehicle showcase on campus.

  1. Volunteer at Carter-Finley Stadium

Help fans recycle and compost at each home football game as part of Zero Waste Wolfpack. In addition to reducing landfill waste at games, you can snag a free t-shirt, too.

  1. Tour a Campus Utility Plant

Discover what it takes to power campus with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Centennial Campus Utility Plant during NC State Energy Week.

  1. Get Your Hands Dirty

Volunteer at one of NC State’s many campus gardens, including the Agroecology Education Farm or SOL Garden.

  1. Take a Course in Sustainability

Find your next sustainability-related course by exploring the Sustainable Development Goals Course Inventory.

  1. Fund Your Big Idea

Apply for an NC State Sustainability Fund Grant and create a high-impact experience for students to engage with sustainability. Grants range from $500 to $50,000 each year.

  1. Participate in Make-A-Thon

Ideate, innovate and present a solution to a global sustainability challenge over a weekend. Gain valuable experience while competing for thousands of dollars in prize money.

  1. Certify Your Student Organization Sustainable

Whether you’re beekeeping or building robots, your student organization can connect to sustainability with this online certification program.

  1. Attend Earth Fair

April is Earth Month at NC State. Celebrate with the Wolfpack and attend NC State’s biggest outdoor event dedicated to sustainability.

Stroll the Rocky Branch Trail while enjoying the fruits of an edible garden or explore the trails of Lake Raleigh Woods, one of nine Hallowed Places at NC State.
