Sustainability Partners

Sustainability Partners is a community of NC State employees and students interested in sustainability on campus and beyond. The group is managed by the University Sustainability Office and the Staff Senate Resources and Environment Committee.

Monthly tours, talks and other gatherings will be scheduled so that the NC State community can acquire more knowledge about sustainability and sustainable practices. All events in this series are certified sustainable.

Sustainable Yard Care Demo and Tour
Wednesday, March 27, Noon – 1 p.m.
Meet in front of Gregg Museum of Art & Design (1903 Hillsborough Street)

Join NC State Grounds Services to hear how the Gregg Museum became a successful pilot site for chemical-free weed control and fertilizer, electric equipment, pollinator-friendly plants, and much more. Learn how these sustainable practices can be applied in your own yard.

In case of inclement weather, the rain date will be Tuesday, April 9.

Design Build Tour
Wednesday, April 17, Noon – 12:45 p.m.

Meet outside Syme Residence Hall (on the side closest to Pullen Road)

What’s it like for a group of students to design and build a sustainable landscape on campus within a single semester? In this tour, NC State landscape architecture students take you behind the scenes at a project in development outside Syme Residence Hall. As you get a sneak peek of the new landscape, students will showcase the design process, sustainability features and the unique Design:Build Course that makes the project possible.
