Get to know Lindsay and her vision for the future of sustainability at NC State:

You’ve been with the university’s sustainability efforts from the beginning. How has the program grown?

The sustainability program at NC State has grown in both breadth and depth over the last 12 years. It has been such a pleasure to experience the evolution of sustainability on campus – from an environmental and operational focus to the addition of initiatives that support the economic and social components of sustainability. Incorporating these concepts into campus life and academic curriculum has been meaningful and important work that I’m looking forward to continuing.

What’s your vision for sustainability on campus?

My vision is for NC State to be leaders and innovators in sustainability to the benefit of our local community, as well as our state and region. To do this, we must weave sustainability into the fabric of the university such that it is a driver in how we operate our institution, is integral to the campus community experience and is ultimately embedded in our curriculum and research.

What are you most looking forward to in this new role?

I am most looking forward to continuing to build on and grow the amazing partnerships and relationships with our campus and community partners. Sustainability is an interdisciplinary and interconnected effort and we can only be successful if we Think and Do together as a sustainable Wolfpack.
