Sustainability Welcomes Largest Cohort to Internship Program

The Campus As A Classroom internship program welcomes its largest cohort of students yet for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Coordinated by the University Sustainability Office, Campus As A Classroom provides students with hands-on experiences that actively contribute to NC State’s commitment to advancing campus sustainability.

This year, 28 students representing five colleges have been selected to work across campus on 19 projects that range from fan engagement at athletic events to water quality monitoring. The students will be paired with faculty and staff with expertise in the project topics.

Campus As A Classroom student interns showcase their Wolfpack spirit.

“The interdisciplinary nature of the program allows students from across the university to play significant roles in sustainability advancements on campus,” said Jessica Bast, Campus As A Classroom program coordinator for the University Sustainability Office.  “Working with so many students who are passionate about sustainability is extremely motivating for me to do the work I do and to create the most impactful experiences for them.”
