Leadership

Because sustainability intersects with every aspect of the university, many leaders and partners are involved.

Overall university-wide sustainability efforts are led by the NC State Sustainability Council, which develops and implements the 2017-2022 Sustainability Strategic Plan. An administrative group created by the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, the Council has five working groups that are open for any member of campus or community to join.

The University Sustainability Office coordinates sustainability activities, initiatives and programs throughout the university, including providing staff support to the Sustainability Council.

Student-led efforts include the Sustainability Stewards, the university’s sustainability student leadership program, the Sustainability Fund Advisory Board that awards grants from the student sustainability fund, EcoVillage living and learning community and sustainability-related student organizations.
