NC State’s commitment to sustainability is guided by its university-wide Sustainability Strategic Plan, which provides a comprehensive roadmap for advancing campus sustainability. Released by the Campus Environmental Sustainability Team in 2011 after more than a year of open, campus-wide planning, the Sustainability Strategic Plan consolidates all of NC State’s sustainability-related commitments, both from within campus and state-mandated.
The five-year plan outlines dozens of goals in these areas: academics and research, buildings, community and culture, energy and water, land use, purchasing, transportation, and waste reduction and recycling. Every year tactics are updated and progress is reported in NC State’s Annual Sustainability Report.
