New Student Internship to Explore Campus Circularity

A new Campus As A Classroom student internship focused on exploring circularity in campus operations is accepting applications.
Five Campus Circularity internship positions will work during the Fall 2025 semester to research and document opportunities for less waste and improved resource efficiency. Under faculty mentorship, the students will assess material flows on campus, engage with regional business partners and contribute data to a public dashboard developed with the Business Sustainability Roundtable.
Student interns will gain hands-on experience in circular economy strategies, sustainability data analysis and stakeholder collaboration by working directly with businesses and campus stakeholders. Their work will strengthen partnerships that support resource recovery and long-term sustainability efforts at NC State and beyond.
The internship runs from August 18 to December 2025, requiring 10 hours per week. Compensation is $18/hour, and the internships are open to undergraduate and graduate students. Applications are due by March 19 at 11:59 PM. For questions, contact Jessica Bast at jmbast@ncsu.edu.
