Lighten Up, Wolfpack!

Now that fall is here the days are starting to get shorter. This year daylight saving ends on Sunday, November 5. Since commutes to campus will be a little darker, we want to make sure everyone stays safe.  The Transportation Department and the WolfTrails program are encouraging all Wolfpackers to lighten up!

Lighten Up, Wolfpack is NC State’s version of the annual Lighten Up, Raleigh safety campaign brought to you by Commute Smart Raleigh.  The program highlights ways to stay safe this winter, encouraging individuals to be visible by wearing reflective clothing or carrying a flashlight during their commute.

Also, if you ride a bike when it’s dark out, be sure to have a front light that is visible from 300 feet and a red rear light or reflective clothing that can be seen from 300 feet.

We will be passing out bike lights, while supplies last, at the Talley Student Union, on Oct. 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Stop by and see us to pick up a light and stay visible while, walking, biking, or waiting at a bus stop this winter.

Please contact the WolfTrails Program Manager, Amanda Simmons at ncsu-wolftrails@ncsu.edu with any questions.
