April is Earth Month at NC State
April is Earth Month at NC State University. Throughout the month of April, the university will host 44+ sustainability-related events including service opportunities, fairs, workshops, film screenings and outdoor activities.
One of Earth Month’s signature events is Earth Fair, which will take place on Wednesday, April 12 from 11 am – 2 pm on Stafford Commons. Nearly 60 sustainability-related organizations will be in attendance, providing interactive displays, demos and information about sustainability.
The Celebration of NC State Sustainability is set for Tuesday, April 18. This annual event honors the people, projects and progress that advance sustainability at NC State. The event kicks off at 9:00 am with a sustainability project showcase. The recognition program begins at 9:30 am and will include the announcement of NC State Sustainability Fund grant recipients and NC State Sustainability Award winners.
This year also represents the 10th Anniversary of the Sustainability Stewards leadership program. A reunion social for past and current Stewards plus program partners and friends is scheduled for Thursday, April 27 from 4 – 6 pm on Centennial Campus.
Earth Month is hosted by NC State’s Sustainability Council and University Sustainability Office.
