Zero Waste Wolfpack Kicks Off Another Season

As a new season of college sports kicks off, volunteers are needed to help NC State Athletics strive for zero waste at every home football game and soccer match.

Volunteers engage and interact with fans, helping fans understand what items can be recycled or composted. Training and tip sheets are provided, so no prior experience is necessary. Volunteer opportunities, perks and interest forms are available at go.ncsu.edu/zerowastewolfpack.

Last season volunteers helped NC State compost 21,318 pounds and recycle 42,305 pounds en route to a record-breaking 44% of stadium waste diverted from the landfill.

This program’s success has resulted in accolades from the City of Raleigh, Carolina Recycling Association and the Green Sports Alliance.
