Earlier this semester, Oppong Hemeng joined the University Sustainability Office as a program specialist focused on student engagement. Chief among his responsibilities is coordination of the NC State Stewards student leadership program. He also works to develop high-impact experiences that enhance student understanding of sustainability and its impacts.
Oppong joins NC State after working in sustainability at the University of Florida, where he earned a master’s degree in sports management. He is a native of Texas and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science at University of Houston.
