Get to Know: Sustainable Agriculture Graduate Student Association

Sustainable Agriculture Graduate Student Association (SAGSA) encourages communication among individuals who are interested in trans-disciplinary discussions about sustainability in agriculture and related scientific, socioeconomic and political factors.

“We focus on ways that agriculture can balance to be environmentally, economically and socially sustainable,” said member Wayne Roper.

SAGSA hosts activities including a reading group that discusses articles about sustainable agriculture, farm visits, volunteer opportunities, social events and special guests that contribute to broadening members’ knowledge of sustainable systems. Membership is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
