Electric vehicles and their charging stations will be the focus of two events at North Carolina State University on Thursday, April 19.

The events kick off at 10:00 a.m. with two consecutive ribbon cuttings for four charging stations. Two of the charging stations are located at the Joyner Visitors Center while the other two can be found in the McKimmon Center parking lot, across from the Solar House. Speakers and a reception to follow. More details, including a list of speakers, can be found on the NC Solar Center web site.

Later that afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., the Centennial Campus Development Office is hosting an Electric Vehicle Town Hall in the auditorium (Rm. 136) of Monteith Research Center (MRC). Advanced Energy will give a presentation on electric vehicles and Centennial Campus officials will be on hand to answer questions about the 10 charging stations that are soon-to-be unveiled on that portion of NC State’s campus.

After the presentation, the community is invited to explore a Nissan LEAF and Chevy Volt on MRC Plaza, as part of  Centennial Campus Field Day.
