Turn Your Ideas into Action with the Sustainability Fund
As a community of thinkers, creators and problem-solvers, NC State is committed to leading the way in sustainability. To support this mission, the NC State Sustainability Fund supports various projects, ideas and programs that advance sustainability on campus.
Previous Sustainability Fund Project Grants have led to numerous successful initiatives on campus, such as:
- Building a solar vehicle for competitions
- Expansion of paper towel composting into more NC State residence halls
- Enhancement of the existing educational orchard at the NC State Agroecology Education Farm
- Development of the Rocky Branch Trail Learning Garden, which includes various edible and pollinator vegetation
- Support for the development of an Ocean Advocacy Workshop for students
A total of $155,000 is being made available this year.
The Sustainability Fund is currently seeking proposals that create high-impact experiences for the student body and improve the sustainability of NC State’s campus and community in a visible and engaging way.
In order to be considered for a Project Grant, the proposal should connect to the university’s Sustainability Strategic Plan. The global Sustainable Development Goals also highlight various areas that Sustainability Fund Grant Projects might address, including renewable energy, environmental justice, sustainable infrastructure and agriculture.
The deadline for submitting proposals is March 5, 2023 and all students, faculty, and staff are invited to take advantage of this opportunity.
