Tracy Dixon

Director, University Sustainability Office

Areas of focus: business development, program management, strategic planning

As a sustainability and change management professional, Tracy led the University Sustainability Office team in helping shift the role of sustainability from an isolated campus program toward an increasingly integral part of the university’s way of doing business. Since Tracy joined NC State as its first sustainability director in 2008, the university’s growing sustainability efforts have earned local and national recognition. A three-time graduate of NC State — with Masters degrees in Public Administration and Natural Resources and B.S. in Natural Resource Management — Tracy has served on the board of directors for the Society for Women Environmental Professionals, Triangle Net Impact and NC Sustainable Energy Association in addition to significant involvement in local and regional efforts to advance sustainability. Previously she worked as a program manager for Advanced Energy, an environmental analyst for the NC Department of Environment and Natural Resources, a legislative assistant for the House Majority Leader in the NC General Assembly and in public relations for the NC Museum of Natural Sciences.  Tracy is a 2014 graduate of Leadership North Carolina and was named one of NC State’s 125 Transformational Women in 2012.
