April is Earth Month at NC State

April is Earth Month at NC State. From April 1 – 30, NC State will buzz with over 70 sustainability-related events, including fairs, workshops, concerts, service opportunities and outdoor activities.

Earth Month Events You Won’t Want to Miss

Earth Fair

  • Wednesday, April 8, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Stafford Commons
  • With nearly 50 sustainability-related organizations, this interactive event offers hands-on activities to inspire sustainable action and opportunities for volunteer service.

Celebration of NC State Sustainability

  • Tuesday, April 21,  8:30 – 10:30 a.m., Talley Student Union
  • This annual event honors the people, projects and initiatives driving sustainability forward at NC State.
  • The event kicks off with a Sustainability Showcase from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m., featuring students and campus researchers discussing their sustainability-related projects. Sign up to display your work.
  • By 9:30 a.m., a formal program will begin and include the announcement of the NC State Sustainability Fund grant recipients and the NC State Sustainability Awards.

Sustainability Social

  • Thursday, April 30,  4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Centennial Campus
  • A casual and fun gathering for the Wolfpack community and beyond to connect and celebrate sustainability.

And that’s just a few of the more than 70 event offerings. There are local food showcases, wellness events, speakers, workshops, films, networking events and so much more, including:

  • Centennial Campus EV Display, Ride and Drive, April 1, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Centennial Campus: Drive, ride and learn more about the benefits of electric vehicles.
  • Farm Feast, April 1, 4:30 – 9:00 p.m., Fountain Dining Hall: Enjoy a delicious showcase of sustainability-sourced foods from across North Carolina.
  • Campus Bee Competition with iNaturalist, April 1 – 18, NC State: Take pictures of bees on campus to support biodiversity data collections.
  • Library-to-Library Bike Ride, April 2, 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.: Starting at Hill Library, enjoy a social ride to Centennial Campus and back.
  • Earth Day Clean Up, April 24, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Lake Raleigh: Join fellow volunteers in beautifying Lake Raleigh and the surrounding woods and trails.
