This week, NC State celebrates International Housekeeping and Environmental Services Appreciation Week, recognizing the dedication of our Facilities Environmental Services team members. Their hard work keeps our campus clean, safe and welcoming for the entire Wolfpack community.

“Our dedicated employees provide a clean, healthy and safe environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors,” said Ada Baldwin, director of Environmental Services. “We play an important role in promoting safety and well-being within the campus community.”

NC State has long been a leader in sustainable cleaning practices. In 2019, the university became the first in North Carolina, and the sixth in the nation, to achieve Green Seal certification for cleaning services. This rigorous certification recognizes sustainable cleaning techniques, use of eco-friendly products and robust employee training.

“We have a clearer focus on indoor air quality, use of less toxic chemicals and integrated pest management,” Baldwin said. “Our Green Seal certification also demonstrates how we prioritize ergonomic and workplace safety for Environmental Services employees.”
