The NC State Sustainability Awards honor those who inspire action, innovate solutions and create impact on campus, in the community and beyond.

By submitting a nomination, you help shine a light on their efforts, showing others what’s possible and strengthening our culture of innovation. Whether it’s a student project, groundbreaking research or a department making a difference, now is the time to celebrate those shaping a sustainable future. 

Awards are open in the following categories:

• Student – Recognizing an individual student’s outstanding achievements in sustainability
• Faculty – Honoring faculty who integrate sustainability into teaching, research or service
• Staff – Celebrating staff who lead and inspire sustainability efforts on campus
• Department or Organization – Highlighting collective impact in sustainability
• Student-Led Initiative – Showcasing a standout sustainability project led by students
• Innovation/Impact – Recognizing exceptional sustainability projects from campus, including research, operations or a related area
• Climate – Recognizing exceptional impact in climate science

Nominations are open to current members of the NC State campus community and are due by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025. Winners will be announced and recognized at the Celebration of Sustainability on April 22 and will receive a plaque honoring their contributions. The awards are offered by the NC State Sustainability Council.
