Delta Gamma Sorority received the Most Sustainable Chapter award during the annual NC State Fraternity and Sorority Life Standards of Excellence Awards Ceremony on Oct. 13.
Chapters that have minimized their environmental impact while maximizing their positive impact on society are considered for the Most Sustainable Chapter Award.
During the previous academic year, Delta Gamma members attended numerous sustainability-related events on campus, hosted a University Sustainability Office staff member as a guest speaker, completed 4,450 service hours and achieved Wolfpack Certified Sustainable status for the chapterās spring tailgate event.
āHaving sustainable practices can be beneficial not only to the Earth but also to ourselves. It is important that we know ways that we can help with sustainability on and off campus,ā wrote members in their award application.
