Pack men’s soccer game to kick sustainability to next level

soccerAs the Pack faces Clemson University in the first major Atlantic Coast Conference showdown of the 2013 season, NC State will also make sustainability a goal of the Sept. 14 game.

In partnership with the 5 Rights Football Club, the Pack is increasing sustainability efforts at the 7 p.m. game. This is the second year that 5 Rights – which advocates for water, food, health, housing and education – has partnered with the Pack for a “Local. Sustainable. NC State” soccer game.

In addition to more robust recycling available at the game, fans will be able to engage with local community organizations that are advancing sustainability. Also, watch for WE Recycle t-shirts to be tossed, Mr. and Mrs. Wuf, a youth soccer scrimmage during half time, a soccer recycling relay as half time closes, and a limited supply of NC State’s own Howling Cow ice cream available just for students.

Attendees are encouraged to carpool, walk, ride the bus or bike to the game, which begins at 7 p.m. at Dail Soccer Field. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 17 years old and younger.
