Widespread Panic grips NC State

To show appreciation for campus support of sustainability initiatives at NC State, the University Sustainability Office and Live Nation are offering Facebook fans of the office an exclusive chance to interview John Bell, lead singer for Widespread Panic.

Widespread Panic is performing a co-headlining show with The Allman Brothers Band at Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek on Sunday October 11.

Widespread Panic supports many sustainable-mined efforts across the country. For instance, they are building a house in the Ninth Ward in New Orleans as part of the Make it Right Foundation, an effort organized by Brad Pitt. At the same time, a canned food drive will be going on at the venue the night of the concert, and you can bring your old cell phones for recycling. Over the past five years, the band has contributed several hundred thousand dollars to the Tunes for Tots program which puts instruments into the hands of grade-school children throughout Georgia.

Outreach and Communications Coordinator, David Dean, said, “we are very excited to partner with strong community-minded organizations, such as Widespread Panic and Live Nation, to offer unique opportunities for fans of the University Sustainability Office and NC State.”
