Tesla Roadster by waterfrontThe Earth Day Committee is once again putting together a strong schedule of activities and programs for the spring semester around the theme, “Green Careers.” Details are starting to emerge on a myriad of events stretching out over March and April.

Below is an overview of a few events. A full listing is on the sustainability calendar. Submit your sustainable event to: sustainability@ncsu.edu.

 

    • Transportation and Outdoor Adventures have teamed to launch a commute challenge March 19 – May 31.
    • The Empower Film Series is back with two exclusive Wednesday night screenings for the Triangle, Semper Fi: Always Faithful and a sneak peak of DisneyNature’s Chimpanzee.
    • Alternative vehicles will roll onto the brickyard Wednesday, April 18 including a Tesla Roadster and a natural gas-powered Honda.
    • University Recreation is hosting an Earth Day Field Day on Centennial Campus and Lake Raleigh Thursday, April 19.
    • Friday, April 20 is the annual brickyard celebration and Earth Day Concert on Harris Field.
    • The events will wrap up on Saturday, April 21 with the downtown Raleigh Earth Day in the afternoon and a local band showcase in select Hillsborough Street bars and restaurants.
