Take a Walk on the Green Side

Campus Sustainability Tour cover hereThe weather is breaking and now is a great time to get outside and start a lunch walking routine.

The Campus Sustainability Tour, sponsored by the University Sustainability Office and Transportation, gives you walking and biking times for main and Centennial campuses. Using the tour you can learn about many sustainable elements of campus.

For instance, did you know that rainwater from the roofs of Jordan and Biltmore Halls help to irrigate Miller Fields?

The Campus Sustainability Tour offers two loops. The main campus loop is 2 miles and will take you roughly 40 minutes to walk. The Centennial Campus Challenge is close to three miles and will take an hour to complete by foot.

Don’t have that much time? No problem! Any person with an NC State ID can rent a WolfWheels bike from the Outdoor Adventures desk in Carmichael.

Download a PDF of the Campus Sustainability Tour on the new sustainability.ncsu.edu or stop by the E. Carroll Joyner Visitor Center to pick up a hard copy.
