Biking is not only good for your personal health and wellness, it is also good for the environment. That’s why NC State strives to be a bike-friendly campus. So if you’re on the fence about pedaling to, from and around campus, here are some of the many resources NC State provides to make biking easier:
No Bike? No problem!
WolfWheels is a campus bike rental program that allows you to rent a bike for a day, a week or even a semester.
A locker for your bike
Prevent a soggy ride on a rainy day by taking advantage of the covered storage lockers on campus.
Theft Prevention
Unfortunately, bikes are so cool that sometimes they are stolen. The good news is that NC State University Police help prevent bike theft by offering bike engraving. You can also register your bike with NC State Transportation.
Bikes to the Bus
Bring your bike along for a ride on Rt. 3 Engineering, Rt. 4 Westgrove, Rt. 6 Carter Finley and Rt. 11 Village Link. These buses are equipped with bike racks to help you get around campus quicker and more sustainably. Don’t know how to use a bike rack? Don’t worry, we’ve got a slide show for that.
Repair and Ride
The NC State Craft Center offers bike repair classes throughout the year. You can learn how to repair flats, tune brakes and more!
Map Your Ride
NC State has made it easier for you to plan your route with this campus bike map, which identifies bike racks, fix it stations, bike lockers and greenways.
Commuter Closets
If you commute by bike to campus and need a place to keep your clothes and accessories during the day, take advantage of the clothes storage lockers available on campus.
Happy biking on campus!
