Enter the October 1-31 Joulebug competition!

Prizes will be awarded, including a solar backpack, an energy saving kit of nearly a dozen CFL light bulbs and gift cards. The contest is open to NC State students, faculty and staff. Here’s how you play:

  1. Download the app for free from the App Store or Google Play while you’re on campus (you can download it off campus, but you can’t start collecting points toward the competition until you’ve used it at least once on campus).
  2. Play Joulebug wherever you go – on campus or off. There are plenty of badges and pins you can earn for your sustainable actions. For this competition, it’s the energy conservation actions that matter most.
  3. Joulebug will keep score, and you can watch the leaderboard. All users who reach 300 energy points by Oct. 31 will be entered in a drawing to win prizes.  Winners will be contacted via the app and will have to reply with an official ncsu.edu e-mail address to win.

What is Joulebug?
JouleBug is a mobile app that makes sustainable living social, simple, and actually fun. There’s even a Wolfpack badge you can earn for taking sustainable actions on NC State’s campus. By competing with your friends on Facebook and Twitter, you lower energy use and reduce waste by playing your environmental part. When the NC State community starts using JouleBug? That’s when we start saving some serious planet.
