Spearheaded by the NC State Energy Management Office, the Strategic Energy Management Plan aims to reduce energy consumption and improve energy efficiency on the NC State campus consistent with the needs for a safe, secure, and inviting campus. Accomplishing this purpose includes developing 41 methodical and aggressive approaches for efficiency energy use across the program areas of:
- Energy data management
- Energy supply management
- Energy use in facilities
- Equipment efficiency
- Campus energy integration (campus education and outreach)
Each strategic area includes a general description of what is proposed, a business case on why NC State is considering the activity, a primary task breakdown of how the activity will be accomplished, interactions of who needs to be involved, what resources and costs are required, and how the activity aligns with the Climate Action Plan.
